Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of this website and the horse transportation services provided by H&D Horse Transportation ("we," "us"), based in Tacoma, WA. By requesting a quote, booking transport, or signing a transportation agreement, you agree to these terms.
1. Quotes and Estimates
Prices shown by the online pricing calculator are estimates only. Your final quote is confirmed personally by phone, text, or email before any transport is scheduled. Quotes are based on distance, number of horses, service type, and any add-ons you request.
2. Bookings
Submitting a booking request through this website is a request, not a confirmed reservation. A booking becomes confirmed only when we contact you to confirm the route, date, and price. You will receive a booking reference number by email for tracking your request.
3. Payment
Payment is accepted via wire transfer, PayPal, or Zelle as agreed at booking. Payment terms (deposit and balance) are confirmed with your quote. Payment processing is handled by the payment provider; we do not store your card or bank details.
4. Cancellations and Changes
Plans change — let us know as early as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel, and we will do our best to accommodate you. Cancellations made with less notice may be subject to a fee to cover committed route costs, which will be explained when your booking is confirmed.
5. Your Responsibilities as the Owner/Shipper
- Provide accurate pickup and destination details and be reachable on transport day.
- Disclose any known health conditions, behavioral issues, or special needs of your horse before transport.
- Provide required travel documents, including a current negative Coggins test and health certificate where required by law (including for interstate and Canada cross-border transport).
- Ensure your horse is fit to travel. We may decline to load a horse that appears unfit or unsafe to transport.
6. Care in Transit
Your horse's safety and comfort come first. We provide regular rest, water, and welfare checks during transport and will keep you updated along the route. In a veterinary emergency during transit, we will attempt to contact you immediately; if you cannot be reached, you authorize us to obtain reasonable emergency veterinary care at your expense.
7. Liability
We take every reasonable precaution to transport your horse safely. However, transporting live animals carries inherent risks that no carrier can eliminate, and we are not liable for injury, illness, or loss arising from your horse's own condition or behavior, from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us, or from events beyond our reasonable control (such as weather or road closures). Any liability we do have is limited to the amount paid for the transport service, except where the law provides otherwise. Specific terms are set out in the signed transportation agreement for your trip, which controls if it differs from these terms.
8. Electronic Signatures
Transportation agreements may be signed electronically through this website. You agree that your typed electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
9. Website Use
You agree to submit only accurate information through our forms and not to misuse this website. Website content (text, images, branding) belongs to H&D Horse Transportation and may not be copied for commercial use without permission.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Pierce County, Washington, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date above shows the latest revision; continued use of the website or our services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
